I am Howard C Byrd, HCB Handyman Services’s owner and founder. A little about myself and the inspiration for HCB Handyman Services. My father, a small business owner with a carpentry business for over 40 years, is where I was introduced to the trade. The summers spent during my youth and throughout my early adulthood are where I honed my skills across many disciplines ranging from carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting, to name a few.

Professionally, I have been a SaaS salesman for more than 15 years. As the universe would have it, the pandemic came along and shifted my mindset in the most unlikely (yet innate ) way. It brought to the surface love and peace for doing various handyman projects, and from there, things just snowballed. I ended up purchasing an older home that needed to be updated. Still, I had a vision and the time to dedicate to the majority of the work myself, along with the guidance of my father, to educate me on some of the advanced aspects of the trade along with re-educating me on some older skills; I hadn’t done in a while. Along with my natural curiosity to expand on things, my project, my home, would be the genesis for HCB Handyman Services.
